Super Health Bread

1/2 cup of boiling water
1 cup of raisins
1 egg, beaten
1 cup lightly packed brown sugar (I use less or none at all and replace the amount with more grain)
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup high-fibre bran cereal
1/4 cup wheat germ
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Pour boiling water over raisins; allow to cool.  Stir in egg, sugar and buttermilk.

In medium bowl, combine flour, oats, cereal, wheat germ, baking soda and salt.  Stir in egg mixture until thoroughly combined.  Pour into 9" x 5" non-stick or lightly greased loaf pan.

Bake in 350 degree F. oven for about 45 minutes or until knife comes out clean.  Allow to cool.
