Rogan Josh My Version

Rogan Josh is a popular dish of the Mughals, the builders of the Taj Mahal.  It is usually cooked with lamb and served with rice or naan.

I made my version by using a packaged Rogan Josh Curry Paste.  Curry is a combination of spices but the main spice in it is Turmeric.  That's what give it the yellow color. Turmeric is a powerful antioxidant and also contains anti-inflammatory property -- great for easing arthritic pain.  It may also help protect against cancer, heart disease and Alzheimer's disease according to some studies.

I made mine with chicken, which was used in the recipe on the back of the package.

I stir-fried cubed boneless chicken breast with green peppers, red peppers, onions, tomatoes and lot of fresh garlic, then added the package of curry paste with 1/2 cup of water and let it simmer down to a somewhat thick texture.

This would of been good on top of brown rice but we decided to have it in whole-wheat pita bread.  It was so good.  A little messy but that's okay!
